Not that anyone noticed I was gone :-).
The reality for me has been a number of different projects, different technology stacks but essentially: painting pixels, receiving input, processing logic, persisting and fetching, and then communicating back. Repeat above.
Not many people know or care that you can or should communicate architecture. Nevertheless.
Lately I have renewed my enthusiasm by dabbling in Unity 3D. Instead of creating 2D, cell-based animations in ToonBoom (still a great option though) the ease with which you can create an interactive 3D world with Unity3D is a tremendous step forward. More powerful. More fun.
